Masonite Board
Masonite is a manufactured product made from wood that is broken down to its fibers and then molded to form hard
panels.
Its single tempered side gives a harder, paintable surface, greater strength and is more resistance to moisture.
Masonite boards are available in a 3mm (2/16") regular thickness or 3/16" heavy duty board and are available in a variety
of sizes.
Masonite can be used as a stretching board for watercolor paper, as a painting surface or as a drawing board.
If using it as a painting surface for oil or acrylic it is recommended that you sand it lightly and then prime it with a few coats
of gesso.
