Masonite Board

    Masonite is a manufactured product made from wood that is broken down to its basic fibers and then molded to form hard

    panels.

    Its single tempered side gives a harder, smooth, paintable surface, greater strength and more resistance to moisture.

    Masonite boards are available in 2/16" and 3/16" thicknesses and a variety of pre-cut sizes.

    They can be used as a stretching board for watercolor paper, a painting surface or as a drawing board.

    To use as a painting surface, very lightly sand the smooth side and prime it with several layers of gesso until the desired

    surface texture is reached.

    Can be painted with oil or acrylic paints.
